I am a 4.0-4.5 baseliner with W-FH and 1h-BH. Tested 17g version in hybrid settings (17g synthetic in cross) with Wilson six one 95S and Babolat Strike Tour 18x20. Tension maintenance was excellent with only about 2-3 lbs tension loss over 2 sets of play. Both rackets strung at 53 lbs bed tension originally.
Generally, this string is exceptional in spin and feel for my volleys, and defensive chips/returns. String not only excelled in generating topspin/slice but also caught nuances of my contact/follow throughs which was reflected in strange and difficult side spins when i was striking the ball on diagonal planes instead of just 12 o clock to 6 o clock contact. (very few strings in the market amplify these nuanced differences in contact quite as well as Firewire). String was also quite flexy and stringbed was softer than expected.
Unfortunately, this string seems to have a racket head speed ceiling. I could get amazing spin performance in my standard rally strokes, but any time I increased swing speed to really go after a floating ball, the string would either flex, trampoline, or not snapback at all, making ball flight really unpredictable or not imparting any spin at all. Hard "buggy-whip follow through" lobs were even worse. I was looking forward to being able to dropping topspin bombing lobs that would carry over the fence on the first bounce but instead because the string snapback was unpredictable, the lobs would sometimes hit the fence on the fly. (no spin + trajectory + speed = homerun derby). full speed overheads and flat first serves sometimes felt like i was flinging the ball with a lacross stick.
All in all, if I'm in situations where I'm playing a grinding or constantly defensive match (think andy murray style) where i need the extra spin and feel in short medium-slow swings I'd marry these strings in a heart beat. But if I'm playing an aggressive first-strike type strategy (thing Thiem/Wawrinka styles) with powerful fast long strokes, I'd have to leave my racket on the court to keep from pulling a marcos baghdatis on change over. It is a one dimensional limited application string, but the one-dimension it does have is probably the best at what it does. (Posted on 9/5/17)

These strings give me just the added bite on the ball that I was looking for. Nice added spin and control! (Posted on 8/16/17)

FireWire is the best string I have ever played with! The durability is solid and it feels great too. It is a strong lively string, but not too lively to the point where I can not control the ball. What I love the most about this string is how much spin I am able to generate with it. I usually play with the 17G and I can really unload on the ball with top-spin when hittin ground strokes from the baseline. I recommended this string to all my friends in the past and this string set stills stands as my no.1 all-time favorite. (Posted on 7/26/17)

SPIN BEAST. Besides durability the ultimate string. Would recommend to anybody playing at a 4.0 NTRP and not too concerned breaking a string (Posted on 7/24/17)

Honestly, I mentioned it, but Firewrie just felt like a much better Cyclone Tour. Like this is how CT was supposed to feel haha. But T1FW out performed the Volkl in pretty much every category. It's hard to make a comparison, there's not many strings quite like it. (Posted on 7/24/17)

I have been testing many polyester strings in the past and I have to say the overall performance of this string ranks high on my list. Amazing ball bite, a nice, firm pop that provided great ball control, durability was nice as well. I do have to disagree with your statement on your string package that the string provides optimum comfort and is extra lively! I was able to generate plenty of power but I thought it was not a characteristic that stood out for this string.

Finally had a chance to string up my Head Speed MP with a 16g T1 Firewire. WOW. Insane ball bite. Not sure if this is even legal. Although the string felt pretty firm I still was able to generate enough pop. Durability and tension stability was great as well. Will be my go-to string in the future! (Posted on 7/24/17)

FIREWIRE IS nice string. after i read this post i went and pull the trigger on a 16 and 17gauge. so far i played with the 17 on my pure aero.
i had some awesome control and spin on my strokes, easy to generate power when needed also very soft.
im a 5.0 player that plays with volk 17 or hyper g17. i may order some more of this string to do more testing.
string durability is ok. it pop on me on my second singles match 2nd set which is fine. i prefer the strings to break than play lose. (Posted on 5/15/17)
